Has anyone had this issue? Its pretty weird... on a 82 maxim xj550

I removed my carbs for some cleaning, Went to install them and seems like the throttle cable was too short where the cable fits in the bracket, down to control the throttle blades. I bought a new cable just incase since the old one was a bit tore up. And still same issue... From the bracket to the place the cable goes in is to short the cable wont reach...

Are you sure the top end of the sleeve hasn't come out of the piece that connects it to the throttle grip assembly?
