I agree....although I haven't seen anything that impressed me, other than a few personally made jobs. Forward controls would be a HUGE asset to these bikes.

I was big into the ideal of fabbing some myself. I do have crash bars and highway pegs installed now too. I really like the comfort of having my legs extended so I thought forward controls would be for me.

Now, on the other hand, western PA has some bumps and pot holes that are better taken on the pegs(via lifting weight from the seat). This is where my concerns come from. If I only had forward controls, I would not be able to lift my weight properly.

Maybe I'm just over thinking it. I do get kinda tired of having to move my foot back and forth to shift gears. Lets face it, the forward controls do look cooler! H*ll, I don't know where I stand on the issue!

I just made my own forward controls and it's alot better for me than the stock location, that's for sure. I did however mount a cheaper pair of footpegs in the stock location, so I am able to move my feet back if need be.
I kept my rear suspension so I don't need to lift my body off the seat when I see a pothole. If you hard tail your bike, you may want to have those stock pegs to soften the blow when you hit a big bump.

    BillB,
No, not really, sorry. I just made mine by trial and error and they turned out pretty good.
I just made the peg mounts (now with mini floorboards) and made the brake and shifter levers to fit my feet. Then I hooked up the control rods to reach the stock control locations, but I used longer threads on the rods, so I can fine tune the adjustment for my feet.
It's time consuming and probably a good winter project, when you have more time to tinker with them. I'm laid off from construction in the winter, so I have months to work on stuff like that.
I can get soem close up photos if you want to give you a better idea how they are made. PD

Please do get lots of angles of those for me.
I spent many many hours this week on carbs and tuning with relocating rear signals and what not.
I have time to burn most days... flexible job.
