86 Fazer question

    Has anyone had one of these? How would it compare to my Xj900? Is there anything to watch out for with them?

    The 700 shares some parts with the XJ700X

    It has the 5-valve genesis head and same bore/stroke. BUT pistons are tilted forward and it uses downdraft carbs. 6 speed chain drive I believe.


    If I had to guess, horsepower is probably similar your 900...maybe a couple ponies less.
    IIRC, just a touch over 100hp
    It's probably a bit lighter, and if it's like the X, it's got more surge on the top end but maybe a bit less low end torque but I got no proof or experience on that.
    Without searching, I think it redlines at 10500 (500 more than the X)

    More rare too although there aren't many 900s around either.
