My 1992 xj600 has a bit of hesitation in all gears at 5k-7k RPM when the throttle is wide open. plenty of pull before 5k and after 7k.

It Idles at 1500 when first starting. but when engine is fully warmed up it idles at 2300-2500 RPM and the Idle thumb screw is all the way out.

I havn't got the carbs tuned yet with a gauge. Could this be the problem?

    Air filter
    Oil
    Carb Boots
    Vacuum lines
    Fuel Lines

    Thanks for any help.

    I answered your other thread.

At 13K: VALVE CLEARANCES. ASAP. You really should do it first based on mileage.

    IN ORDER:

Carbs taken off, properly cleaned and serviced, and Bench Sync'ed.
Float levels set using fuel and clear tubing.
    VALVE CLEARANCES IN SPEC.
    Running vacuum sync.
    Mixture-tuning.

Anything less won't cut it, honest.

Oh, and SeaFoam makes my good-running bikes run like crap. I doubt it will help.

Okay, Thank you for a straight up answer. I'd like to apologize. Maybe I took your first post the wrong way. I don't want any trouble on this site, I like it too much. and its so helpful.

Thanks again, I'll move the valves to the top of the list.

Oh also, do I need to buy the adjustment tool made for xj600's?
