How do you tell if you need to change the clutch in xj700n

    Have this bike and well upon test driving it seems the clutch slips alil but is this normal and the friction zone, well it does start doing anything till i am halfway out on the lever. please let me know if it would be best to replace or am i just paranoid

    it maybe as simple as a clutch adjustment,has it got the right engine oil? not with all the real slippery additives. do a search on clutch adjustment,it will be a good start.

    As a rider who recently fixed a high-power clutch slip, do some adjustments before you spend a dime. Did wonders for my bike.

    thnaks will do, and i never thought about the additives contributing to slippage, good food for thought

    Oil should be for motorcylces with combined crankcase/transmision. If the bike has had automotive oil for a long time it may have contaminated the clutch with anti friction additives. This usually happens over time, not a single change.
