undercutting tranny gears

    are you talking about undercutting the dogs so they have a positive engagement (no grinding), or something else?

    yea, that's the plan. second gear pops out and in unless you baby it so might as well do it before something breaks. the trick is going to be what angle and what to use. it's been awhile since i was in there, do the slots the dogs mate to go all the way through the gear or are they pockets ?

    i cant help you as far as model specific info, but i bet undercutting is not as important as cutting back the rounded portion into square material. and for the nipples you might need to add material and machine it flat again.

    for the race machines its not really cost effective to try and repair gears or dogs, i just toss them and put new in. i dont know as that is the case with old yammis though?
