    Anyone going to this?
I can't bring the bike - not up for a long trip yet - but I'll be there nonetheless!

When the hell did Centreville get a bike show? Last I checked, the place still can't keep its population above 2,000.

And this is the county seat, mind you.

Well, they say this is the "second annual..." so, I guess they got it last year.

Really, just looking for an excuse to get out of the city and the lady seemed up for it. Any suggestions of other sights to see along the way?

I haven't been back there in ages, so I really couldn't suggest anything. I don't think there really is much of anything, offhand -- at least not between Chicago and Michigan. I do know if you keep going and hit Ohio, there's Cedar Point Amusement Park in Sandusky. :D

Being the county seat, it's got the fairgrounds, so that's likely where the show will be at. What I can remember of the place; it's a small town, a mostly agricultural/rural area; sizeable Amish population. (I hope you like trees and corn, because you'll probably see a lot of both.) Don't be surprised to see hitching posts and horse manure in the supermarket parking lots. There wasn't a whole lot of industry; that may have changed. Three or four miles north out of town will run you into the Langley Covered Bridge. You don't see a whole lot of covered bridges anymore, and the five and dime store was selling laminated pictures on my last visit. (Yes, I still have mine.)

Oh, and according to the 2000 census, they had 1579 people. Ten years later? They added a whopping 35 residents. :)

    Depends on the person.

    Do you like:
    The lake? - Benton Harbor
    Flowers? - Holland
    Hunting/fishing? - Cabela's in Dundee
Zoos? - John Ball Park in Grand Rapids
    Airplanes? - Kalamazoo Air Museum
Scenic Drive? - take Red Arrow Highway/Blue Star Highway/M63 up the coast of Lake Michigan

Sorry, not aware of anything around Centreville though.

Or you could drive a few minutes south of Centreville, and go to Sturgis, just so when someone asks, you can say "Yeah, I been to Sturgis, boring as Hell!"......Hey, I just thought of somewhere else you can go in southern Michigan LOL

A few miles east of town is this little spot in the road called Nottawa. Sand Lake is located there; popular swimming spot.

You might also see about stopping by one of the flight schools and see if they'll do the "introductory flight" thing. Bear in mind that Kazoo is about 40 minutes or so north.

There isn't -- unless you like corn. Trust me on this.

Yeah, about a 20 minute drive. (I won't bore you with directions on how to get there.) Three Rivers is about 5 or 6 miles west - that's where you'd hop onto 131 to head up to Portage/Kazoo.

There is even less in my neck of the woods. Hell, I haven't even seen another motorcycle in the past 2 days in my neck of the woods.
