Fork Seals

Looks simple and definately cheap........... or If it will be a while before you can get it fixed, you can use the Sealmate, but a free tool will work as well. Use a short piece (5" or so) of 35mm film. The one change I will mention from what I read is cut the sprocket holes off, or they could break off inside the seal.

With the sides smooth, and the corners of one end slightly rounded, work the film strip under the seal (slide up the dust seal first) and work the film strip around the fork while under the seal. It will slide slowly just fine. Do this for about two rounds, and check.

Your leak may be fixed and it may (repeat) may stay fixed for days, weeks, or months/years. Many report this to work as well as new seals, some report it doesn't work much at all. I had a right fork leaking so bad it was squirting all over the place. I did this film fix and it is dry as new. There IS still oil in the fork also.

Old post I know...but I just bought some of these and hope it does the trick. I have fork oil leaking down to my brake pads. Good luck stopping well with oil soaked brake pads!
