Well I knew I had this somewhere, so I found the book I keep my original dealership brochure on the 1985 MaximX. I bought mine used, (In 1986, and still have that bike) but also was there to see them on the showroom floor. I thought some of you may want to see this. Hope the pictures can be made big enough so you can read it. They are in the order you would see the pages as you open it. The first shot is darker, just as it is on the pamphlet.

There was a motorcycle meet up in Seattle today. BackFire. I saw a bike like yours. It was pristine. I love 80's bikes.

I like the look of that bike that is for sure! I do like the way these XJ bikes look. They look good even today in some cases 30 years after they were first on the market!

I never planned to keep this bike for so long. Now that it can qualify for collector status I wish it was perfect too. Time has taken a bit of a toll. And the guy who stole my front fender 15 years ago didn't help. I replaced it with one from a wrecked bike busness, this before the internet and I forgot to ask if it was damaged....funny I would have told a buyer that. Anyway it is flat black now and I had to repaint the side covers black too...Over all it is very presentable, but not show/collector quality. Now I just hope it will run once I am finished assembling the motor. That is a topic of another post...hopefully soon.
