Hey Guys, For those of you following the site closely I was able to get my last electrical issue fixed by replacing the battery. Luckily it wasnt the Tci.

I was able to take the bike for my first ever ride on it since I bought it in stock form and its only running on 3 cylinders. Number 2 cylinder isnt running and number 3i snt as hot as 1 and 4. I realize cylinders 2 and three are on the same coil. The carbs have been cleaned too many times so I know thats not the problem. The plugs were also brand new prior to this ride.

Has anyone had any similar problems and if so what was the fix? Is it worth buying new plugs caps and wires for the old coil or should I try to locate a used coil on ebay or something? Any thoughts would be very helpful!

Thanks for the tip! However the spark seems to be weak on number 3 cylinder compared to 1 and 4. That was my first indication as possibly the coil is on its way out?

Is it worth getting one from eBay to try?

How would I check the resistance of the coil I have?

With a multimeter on ohms scale. Low tension side should read 2.5 ohms. High tension side should read 11 K ohms. Take the coil of and look for cracks on the coils insulation.
#2 plug cap could have the error - open circuit.

Had a weak spark on #2 when I bought mine. Unscrewed the plug boot, cut about 1/4" off, and screwed the boot back on. Luckily that was all I had to do to fix my issue. Worth a try before spending the money on a coil.

Thanks for the great info guys! I will cut back the wire and see it that helps first and then run a ohm check on the coil. You Guys Rock! Ill be posting some pictures soon of the finished build. Stay Tuned!

All this is great advice. I had to snip off some coil wire too and go through the carbs a second time. Running amazing as a result.
