    Opinions please;
    My bike has been getting fussy to start in damp weather.
    A resistance check read 3.1 ohms on each coil.
    The plug cap to plug cap check gave an open circuit instead of the 11k ohms on both coils.
    Visual inspection showed cracks in the plastic.
    I found the coil surgery thread and would like to try it out.
    does the 3.1 ohm reading make the coils junk and the "surgery" not worth it?
    If they are junk I will try the Dyna conversion.

    Thanks,
    Maz

    Remove the plug caps (they unscrew from the wires) and redo the test. That's how you're supposed to do it to read 11K Ohms. With the caps on it's 22K Ohms.
