Is your bike stock? What makes you say its running hot? What all have you done to the bike any maintenance repairs? Is this the first time youve got the bike running or is this a bike you have been riding? More info that you can provide will help

thanks for the reply. i got the bike a few weeks ago.it needed a tci box. bought one ,i pretty much went through the whole bike. it does have an aftermarket exhaust on it ( a kerker 4 to 1) i also noticed that the owner before me dremeled the outer coating on the inner windings of the stator/ generator... i live maybe 3/4 of a mile to a circle k and when i drive there & back i can totally feel an excessive amount of heat off of the motor. i dont have tags on it yet, so im hardly driving it. if it wasnt quite sealed where the header goes into the motor & was leaking exhaust , could that be the problem ? thx

I doubt your leaking exhaust is causing your overheating . The problem is what you consider hot and what I consider hot might not be the same is there anyway you can get some temperature readings that someone with the same bike might duplicate. Might as well pull your plugs and take some pics and post if you can
