I just finished installing some Accel coils (140403) on myXJ750J.
There's not much room under the tank to work with but I got them in and the bike runs good.
' The problem is my tach stopped working and my blinkers don't blink.
If I signal left the right one goes on and stays on.
Also, the computer restarts when I apply the brakes.

It all worked before the coil swap.
I'm assuming I disturbed the 27 year old harness or I got something wrong wiring up the coils.
    Any ideas?

    Thanks, Maz

The tach normally has a joint inside the harness the brings the Grey coil drive wire up to the tach. Did you cut the plugs and/or run new wires when hooking up your Dynas? If so, you probably cut that wire to the tach, and you'll need to reconnect it.

Having the right lamp light when you signal left means that must have reversed some plugs. The not flashing part may be related to the reversed plugs or may mean that you also have a bad bulb or socket or another plug disconnected. Look under the tank for any plugs with Dark Green or Dark Brown wires and make sure that you have Dark Green going to Dark Green and Dark Brown going to Dark Brown.

Nowthat I think of it,I installed the Accel coils using brackets instead of the stock bolt mounts.
The square steel bars going through the center of the coil are not grounded.
I just hooked up the two black wires to them so I'm thinking I need to ground both bars to the frame like the stock ones were.

The central bar of the coils does not need to be grounded; those two black wires from the main harness attach to the bike frame (ground) at that point "through" the coil mounting bolts; it was just a convenient point to "tap" into the bike's frame at that location.

Those two black wires were the problem.
I grounded them to the frame and all is well again.

    Thanks for the help guys.
