85' XJ700 Maxim

Hello, mates. A friend of my wife is selling this locally, and I figured I'd post on here. She's asking 900$, but that's because I told her to shoot real high, haha. So, I know for a fact she'll come down, though, I don't know what her bottom dollar truly is. Probably not worth anyone's travel to Central Illinois, but you never know. I really really really wanted this myself, and she'd even give it to me with no money down on payments, but I have so much cash I want to wrap into Maxine (as well as all our other financial endeavors), I just can't see having just time for the XJ.

I don't know much about it running order, but I do know her husband had the carbs professionally rebuilt about the time I was getting rid of mine a couple years ago, but I imagine it's just sat since then... I'd imagine all the typical TLC required of the XJ models would still be necessary, but she was acting like I'd be able to drive it home.

Anyway, if you happen to be interested, I'll play middle man. :wink:

Very fixable but its not a maxim x . Its the n air cooled model. Probably make a good project for someone

 

You're 100% correct - that's totally my bad.

 

if i wasn't so far away i would be interested in it. Especially when the owner is very flexible. you are right the price is way high but you got to start somewhere . You also might want to post the miles

 

Just found out from her husband today that the mileage is 15,000. I really don't know much about this bike other than I want more time so I can make it my own, haha.
