  When removing the carbs and cleaning a couple of the float arms got slight bend in them, hence when put back and fired the machine just flooded
We know it is the floats that must be redone, the metal part that holds the black floats is not straight on a couple, and then all need to be balanced, from other posts I can't seem to get to grips with how to set them properly:

But I don't understand how to do it does anyone know of an idiots guide, as this is now the only problem I have see pics[IMG][IMG]

Thanks and sorry if you may think I am daft, but have never done this before and even a guy who works on bikes said he always could not work out how to do it, want her to run ASAP. IT HAS BEEN A WHOLE YEAR waiting now so CLOSE, but so far.
    Thanks all

As far as i can see you have got new float needles?
That could cause the problem - if they are shorter than the original.

To adjust the float height you bend the small tang - see pic.
Then put it all together measure with the clear tube - see the other pic. If not OK then do it again. Quite time consuming.

To elaborate just a bit: You need to find a way to mount the rack so that it is level in all directions, then test the float levels using fuel and clear tubing as in the illustration above. It doesn't take much of a "bend" on the little tab to make a large change, so go easy.

No these are all as they were nothing new just all cleaned up, I now understand about the little lever, am just going to get a DUAL READING DIGITAL VERNIER CALIPER, as this is meant to make the job easier.

My stupid mistake was that I bent all the little levers that stop the floats going straight over, if that makes sense?
Don't understand about the clear tube?
The 2.0 +/- 1mm is this from when the floats are pushed up then lower to that or am I just mad as a hatter.

Since writing this I see now the picture and other comments

Dry height is only to give you a starting point. You NEED to wet set (clear tube method) carbs have to be perfectly level. I can hook you up with info on how to make a rig for this super cheap... you probably already have the stuff in your garage!

You hook the clear tubing up to the drain port, let the float bowl fill with fuel, and open the drain screw. The fuel will seek the same level in the clear tube that it is inside the bowl; you hold the tube up next to the carb to measure the fuel level.

You have to check them this way "wet" and using fuel. As above, "dry" setting is only a starting point.

Needles probably stuck open. Whack the bowls with a hammer handle -- that should get it to stop.

    ASCII and ye shall receivii.
