That sure is unique. Are they air scoops for circulation,or non-functional?

Both my helmets have very unique graphics, never seen another like them, but right now I don't have a camera to get pics

They are for decoration. If anyone has seen an anime called Durarara!! its based off a character on that show. If you get any pics of your helm Id like to see them. Helmets are a great personalization for a biker. 8)

Be careful making modifications to helmets. Even painting certain materials will compromise their integrity. Those modifications will nullify the DOT approval and therefore the helmets are no longer legal for street use. Worse than that they won't protect you in the event of a crash. My helmets both warn that before painting, I contact the manufacturer. Since I have no intention of painting then , I haven't bothered. I am thinking that there may be processes and materials that are compatible with those used in manufacturing and if those are used, the DOT approval will be maintained.

Saw this online. Thought it was a cool or
different concept for a M/C helmet.

See those are cool. They look like masks you would find on Army of Two.

Wow, seeing them bugs on the "Bugs" helmet is a good pun. It also makes me wonder about guys with no windshield and open face helmet. Keep your lips closed... then again, nothing wrong with a free snack whilst two-wheelin!

Here are some shots of my 100th Anniversary helmet that I got when I was in the Isle of Man for the races in 2007. There were only 5000 made worldwide for this event and mine is #3748

Years ago I had a friend with a unique helmet. It was a standard full face helmet with a chrome viking head emblem from a Rover car. Sadly, it was only unique because it was held on by a self tapping screw......

one night a mate of mine needed a lift home and the only lift at the time was a motorbike, we were at the pub and he asked a barmaid if she could find an ice cream container for him , she eventually tracked one down and he secured it to his head with black electrical tape. he is still alive and this was 25 years ago when we were uneducated or worried about the law, true story.

The cool thing is that just being worn for miles and miles in the wind can also make a helmet unique. There are those bug remains that just won't come off, or maybe you got scuff marks at an overlook on the Blue Ridge Parkway. All these little things add character. Or maybe your helmet saved your life in an accident.

I know how bikers love to swap stories, so I've set up a form below to let you share stories about unique motorcycle helmets and the places they've been. Each story will become a page on this site. Include a photo of your helmet to go along with the story if you have one. As others read your story they will have a chance to rate it and you can also rate others' stories. Have fun with it!
