OK this is really telling everyone how old I am 8O . I got my license way back when, in Ontario, you did not need a special license to drive a motorcycle. In fact all you needed was a learners permit for a car to drive a motorcycle. When they changed things and decided you had to have one if you owned a motorcycle all you had to do was bring in your ownership for the bike as proof of riding experience and you where issued a license. I think you had to have owned for at least six months.
Now the reason for my question. My wife wants to get her bike license, shes tired of riding on the back and now that I'm retired we have more time to ride. Great excuse for anther XJ!!!!!
Anyway she wants to know what does the eye test consists of. Can anyone of our new Ontario riders tell me before she drives me crazy. She wont write the test until she knows what to expect for an eye test. :Green:

My last eye test in Tillsonburg was to look in to machine that looked like a long box. Then you were asked to read a few lines of letter that would get progressively smaller. Then were ask what side of your view was a flashing light. Not a big deal.

+1 from what lostboy said. That box is just a vision test and it checks your peripheral vision.

I got my drivers licence back in 92, so i had to write my M1, G1 and Street signs all in one shot... Thank god thats over!

This spring I went with my buddy to the MTO so we could both get our M1. I didn't have to do a vision test because I had recently done a full medical for my class DZ. My friends vision test went as follows.

MTO Lady: Sir, please place your face in the vision tester and tell us what you see.

My friend: Yes Ma'am. *Looks through the goggles*

MTO Lady: Alright tell us what you see.

    My friend: I, E, B, T

MTO Lady: Sir, we are showing you numbers, not letters.

    My friend: Oh...

    True story.
