Biker Wannabe

I don't know how I got branned with the name "Biker Wannabe" on my profile, but I have noticed other new members have been branned with the same. What is with this? Personally don't its a very good way to treat new menbers.

Just for the record, I am 46 years old and have been riding bikes for over 30 years, have owned over 30 bikes in my days, riden in 10 different countries, riden around Australia twice. The first time at 19 and the last only a year ago, two totally different trips I must admit. Just for the record, it's about 19000 Kms if you just stick to Hwy 1.

I only got onto the XJ Biker website when I decided to enter a "Scrap Heap Challange" were you have to buy a bike and have it road legal for under $1000. I brought a 1981 XJ750 on ebay for $300 and currently have spent $629 (including the bike) on the project until I devoloped a ignition problem. I must admit, if I put an hourly rate on working on the bike it would run into the thousands.

Anyway, thanks for the help on my recent postings.

Gee "Top Grinder" already. You get up the ladder pretty quick in the operation.

I'll stick with it as long as I 'm not grinding into the dirt or black top.

 

If you hang around long enough it changes pretty quickly (past experience doesn't count). Take a look at mine (I know nothing, my 2 cents probably ain't worth even that :lol: )...

Don't let it bother you. I don't even know what mine is. Fact is, there is a huge amount of talent on this forum, much of it from folks with less than "wizard" status and inversly, there are some wizards who couldn't cast a spell with magic wand and a owners manual. Stick around, you'll know which guys just like to post and which guys really know their stuff. Personally, they can call me a wannabe forever...makes no difference. I'm not here to impress anyone, just to share where I can help and learn where I can and have been lucky enough to have made a few friends along the way....the rest just doesn't matter.
