Just start tearing into it. Look around for the parts you need, get 'em and make 'em work. You've got 3 or 4 months till consistant good riding weather, that's enough time to get stuff done.

    That picture is a Seca.

Looks like a 4 into 1 muffler, clip-on handle bars, totally custom seat, and not much else. Definitely doable.

thats a sweet ride. Looks like they hacked off the tail piece, fabricated or transplanted a stubby rear fender and built up and retrimmed the original seat and had it nicely covered. I love the clip ons. That bike is sexy! Definately do-able

That's a nice bike by Matt Bernardis, used to shoot e-mails back and forth when I was starting my SECA buid - guess all the newby questions got to em.

As far as the project goes, here's what I did to my 83 XJ650 SECA to date:

    Stock:

So far I've added clubmans, eliminated 1 horn (and re-located the other one behnd the exhaust header), removed the (useless) handles in the rear, shortened the rear signals and moved them up to the former handle brackets, installed progrips & barend mirrors, removed rear inner fender (back portion just unbolts to crossmember), hacked off the frame to the seat crossmember (plugged it with barends), made a seat cowl on an extra seatpan, new taillight... Bike still needs paint, rearsets and a nicer slip-on (something more classic/cafe). Seat is upholstered but not installed (waiting for paint to be finished).

I also made a fender eliminator for the stock 2-up seat so I can switch back and forth from 1-up to 2-up riding.

If I can help with any info from what I did I will.

I dont check this forum to much (usually I'm on www.dotheton.com still "ease" on that forum). So feel free to contact me there or through e-mail.
