Have just bought my first Yamaha, a XJ 600 -84. It's in prety good shape, a few things need to be done. BUT, I'm looking forward to rebuild a few things, and the first would be to change handlebar, and on my bike, it doesn't seems possible, as the mount is ... not like ordinairy "raisers".
Sorry if my language is a bit poor, especailly when it comes to techical terms. I'm from Sweden, and lives there, but found this excelent page searchin for XJ's cafe-racer's. Have found a few Triple tree ( http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/Yamaha-9 ... 3ef608a040 ) on ebay, but not shure if the would fit my -84.
So if any of you know if it would, please let me know!

    Tnx!
Yes, it seems to be a lot of knowledge around here.
In Sweden nobody seems to do anything with XJ's. Either it's about new racers/streetfighters or it's older Honda CB / Asian paralell-twins they custmize to caferacers.

Hi - the ebay parts you have found are from the later 600 - called a "Diversion" in England and perhaps Sweden to?
It may fit but you would have to measure yours and ask the seller.

Are you sure you want to modify it??!!

i am pretty sure the yokes you have are the same as the diversion.they run thicker fork legs.(36mm for the xj,and 38mm for the early diversion.the 2002 model onwards ran 43mm i think).some ran twin discs, and some only single.you could try gettin some sleeves made up tho so your fork legs fit inside the new yokes.remember you will need some extra spacers for your wheels too tho.

Markie: Well I really would like to see how it could look with another handlebar, nomatter if I choose the streetfighter look or cafe-racer. Another solution is maybe clip-on if I go for cafestyle.

    Grinder:
tnx, OK, but if I get hold on a complete fork/tire, then that probably would fit then, without using spacers or sleeves wich a would need to use my own fork legs?
