I've had a problem with the odometer on my bike since I bought it, and I finally had a chance to rip apart my instrument cluster. It actually was easier than I thought it would be, but I ran into a couple problems along the way, first of all, the reason my odometer wasn't working is because the gear somehow got stripped (see attached photograph), but also, the PO appearently tried to fix this and broke the enclosure (also see attached photographs) so the only thing i could do while in there was replace a missing screw from the speedometer face... not very productive, but somewhat informative. So it looks like after all that, i'll be hunting for a new cluster.
Also of note, I took a picture of what I did to replace my fuses, I got all the materials from work. I figured that its not environmentally sealed, but if it took 20 years for the stock ones to get corroded, it'll be 20 years before I have to worry about these ones.

Ahh,the proverbial "company benefits". Have you done a forum search for "fuse block"? A lot of the members seem to prefer the blade type fuse blocks. That is the route I'm going. I have already swapped out the original fuse block with a new one,but I have found the glass cartridge type fuses to be problematic. But then my fuses are exposed, whereas yours seem to be pretty well protected. Nice clean job you did on your fuse block replacement.

Nicely done on the fuse holder upgrade. I just got bought a 81 Seca 750 and joined this site. From what I've learned so far, the fuse box upgrade is a must.

The fuses were a must, the bike wouldn't start until I let off the starter button, then eventually wouldn't even do that. We could see a weak spark while cranking and had ruled out almost everything before I checked on this site, good thing I did before changing out TCI and coils, because the repair was free and took 10 minutes.
