    OK, I'll start:

Avon Roadrider AM26, and go to a 130 on the rear.

Metzler ME880s are a tried and true tire for general street/highway use. Depends on your criteria: sticky (and short lived) for sport riding; good in rain; cheap price; long lasting?

Hi, thanks for the recommendations. Those tires have really good reviews. Any comments or experience with Bridgestone Battlax BT45V.

I run the Battlax BT45's on all my bikes. Have been very happy with them. A good all around tire. :D

I have run the BT45 on my RD350LC which I raced and my Ducati MHR, heaps of grip wet or dry, haven't worn any out yet to now what mileage they'll do

Anybody have any suggestions for a dual-sport tire that will fit the Maxim 550?

I have been happy with my Shinkos. I think they are model 714s.

I too tout the Avon AM26 Road Rider. However, I had to take the first rear tire back for premature checking. Now the replacement tire is premature checking. I'm guessing I better take this one back too. They've both had '09 date codes. The good: I've probably put 8-10 tires on over the years and the avon gives me the most confidence in tight corners and the best overall performance. It's speed rated too, at an HR price.

My son and I both run with the Metzler ME880s. These are great tires.
They will give you confidence on the road.

Thanks for the input on tires. Seems can't go wrong with the tires mentioned. For my xj900, I ordered a set of Blattax.
