Because I like the original look, and there is nothing wrong with glass fuses, I found these at Canadian Tire. The fit perfectly in the stock housing and slide into the factory "grooves". I still have the tachometer issue, but at least its not caused by the broken ignition fuse holder. Less than $5.00 The cover fits as designed too.

    Looks good.
    Nice, clean-looking job!

    Excellent improvement.
You'll be glad you did it.

Nice! I've got to look for those around here. My fuse block just started crumbling and I like the idea of keeping it as close to stock as I can.

We actually have the stock original-style fuseboxes available (glass fuses), which is great for a full-on resto.......but, our recommendation is to changeover to the more modern blade-style ATO/ATC fuses.

Super, I'm finally getting around to doing mine - pried the metal bits out of both holders and got the new ones inserted. A couple questions:

    1) Did yours slide all the way in to clear those little plastic retainers toward the inside of the mounts? The new bases seem a mm too long to fit and I'm wondering if its worth worrying about - I figure the fuse will keep the bits from pushing IN and they're not going to move OUT.

    2) Your finished tabs look shorter than out of the box. Did you cut them short, or fold them over (i.e. crimp then solder), or am I just seeing it wrong?

    3) Any other tips or pointers if you had to do it all over?

    Thanks.

Disregard the questions. I got 'er did.

I tinned the wires then ran them through the little holes in the tabs (from the back side), pressed them against the tab a bit, then soldered. All good in the neighborhood. Short work once I actually got around to it. BTW, just pulling off the old connectors saved valuable wire length and handily stripped the wire in the process.
