yics ports?

    in laymen's terms, where is the yics port/passage found?

    There are two bolts that go horizontally just under the carbs. One on each side of the engine. They are the only ones in this orientation. The port can be accessed from either side as it is one interconnected group of chambers. BigFitz had a picture here

    What bike do you have? It may not have one. When I got my 81 I spent more time than I'd like to admit looking for it.

    thanks, bigfitz52's post is still there and shows it clearly. i have an 82 650 with a yics engine.

    blocking those ports makes a huge differance. Not blocking it will cause it to be out of sync. You can tell by tuning without, riding and then tuning it with it blocked. It will just feel faster and smoother.
