same thing happened to me, a mechanic checked the carbs and says there is no reason for it to be lean,30plus years as a professional mechanic , runs exactly like it always has, go figure

well i check the plugs every week, they slowly get a tan tone to them, i have done 11000 k's since this happened, still does when i change the plugs, yes a lean burn will cause trouble to the insides, ive stopped worrying about it.what can i do? the float levels are spot on ,he just did the carbs and told me i will see you in a year.i ride it fairly hard, all the fluids get done religously before they are due, it caused me alot of grief when i 1st got the bike ,new plugs, air filter.oils and oil filter, took ages for them to tan up,according to alot of contributers here my bike should have burnt holes in everything, but i ride it everyday, only time my bike needed help was when the cam chain needed adjustment, no worries at all.this is all only my opinion, others will chime in, im sure, sorry i couldnt really help, just relaying my own experiences, good luck with yours
