I have been trying to source some new rubber mounts that hold the relays under my tank on my 82 Seca 650. It doesn't seem that Yamaha sells this part separately. Are there any other sources?

    Thanks, Phil

One of my relay mounts broke awhile back. Didn't notice it until I started smelling the burning rubber as it cooked atop the engine. I went to ebay and 1 guy wanted $10 for a used mount. Another guy had 3 whole relays (2 with their respective mounts) for .99 & shipping. Needless to say I bought the set of 3. Good thing I did as the 2nd one needed replacement too. Don't know which relay mount you need, but maybe someone here can help ya out.
If not, a quick ebay search shows a set of 3 (XJ650)with mounts (1 mount looks taped together:

But he wants almost $40 delivered :(
Another set of 3 (XJ750) that APPEAR to have the mounts (hard to tell) for $26 delivered:

Here's a set of 3 (XJ550) WITHOUT the mounts, but their relatively cheap, so it might be worth an e-mail to see if he'll sell you the mounts:

Here's a mount that looks suspiciously like the one that broke on my XJ, but it's listed for an XV920 at $3.xx delivered:

I just wrapped mine with a piece of old inner tube rubber and used a wire tie to hold it to the frame. That's been about 4 years ago and it hasn't moved since.

I use large black tie wraps. They are disposable and hold things very well. Bag of 100 was something like $4.00. Makes it easy to relocate them too.

If you're a bit crafty you can also make your own mounts out of a (softer) rubber hockey puck. They are pretty easy to carve up with a good utility knife.
