My original grips were deteriorating, falling a part, and makeing the palms of my hands black.

So, I thought I it was finally time to put some new grips on.
I broke out the compressor, hooked up the airgun and it took all of about 5 seconds to get them off! and let me tell you, the chrome that is under my left grip is the nicest piece of chrome on that bike!

Putting them on was another story, Probably took me close to about 45 minutes to get the new ones on, only because I had no idea what I was doing... I figured out a rhythm of blowing air and twisting the grip at the same time and it all of sudden slipped all the way on.

I was putting my stuff away and saw my paracord laying there and remembered how rusted and pitted my handlebar was, so I wrapped them in paracord!

I like the look so much, I will probably wrap the top of my forks too. Right after I rebuild them...

    Now for the pictures!

I'd like to also know how much those grips cost and where you purchased them from. They look fabulous to say the least! grunt007, 81'XJ750SecaR, Mi.

The grips are Bikemaster Revolver Bar End Grips. I got them for about 20 bucks from cycle parts west. I went in there not knowing what to expect and then I saw them and fell instantly in love.

My only thing against them so far is that they are about 1/2"-3/4" shorter than the originals, so I am showing a little chrome on the left, and I put a strip of black electrical tape on the throttle sleeve so it wouldn't stick out like a soar thumb. but other than that I have just a short ride on them so time will tell.

Seen very similar (if not exact) on ebay. Not sure about price though.

I considered that style but ended up getting some retro repro GT style ones.

Love the grips and the paracord looks good too! Did you just wrap it around the bars or did you put a retaining loop on them every so often so they don't loosen up?

I wrapped the bar in the 3 seperate sections, and I pulled the tag ends undernieth the wraps.
I use the same technique for custom fishing rods; I used braided fishing line and made a loop, I layed that loop parallel with the handlebar and wrapped the paracord around it about five times, then I put the tag end of the paracord through the loop and pulled it under and continued the wraps, I did the same procedure for end tag of each section.
