With the neutral switch plug disengaged and the sidestand relay removed should the bike still start. Or would you have to bypass them some way or do you not need them for the bike to start or do they all have to be functional to start the bike? Thanks for any help

IF you want to test the start-safety-circuit. You can remove the starter safety relay and it will take all the checks out of the system.

**It's NOT advisable AT ALL to ride the bike with this system disabled**

But for checks it will help you out.

Ok so If I disengage the starting circuit cut-off relay that will make sure that no safety mechanism is preventing my bike to start from the start button? Or am I not understanding this? Thanks

Does this also allow the bike to attempt a start while gear-engaged w/out having the clutch pulled? I could see some idiot, like the one in my mirror, launching his bike down the driveway and into the street.

To correctly disengage it you must pull the wire connectors apart just under the seat, AND you must put a jumper in the clip. Once fully disconnected and jumpered, you will be able to start the bike at any time in any position, in any gear, etc...... YES it's dangerous. I've done it, I had to constantly remind myself to check, and even then, pulled out a couple times with the stand down. DON'T do it unless its an emergency, and FIX it ASAP

My bike doesn't have the clutch safety cable so my bike will attempt start when in gear without the clutch pulled in. Yes it will lurch forward and if it catches you completely off guard you might get off balance and drop the bike but it hardly will go zooming off. Now, have the choke on and have it in gear and just drop the clutch in, then yes it will take off. Since my bike will idle at 3K RPM with the choke on.

I think one of the PO's of my bike disabled all the safety features. the bike will start in gear, with the side stand down. To warm her up in the mornings I usually have it in neutral and on the side stand just put the key in and hit the start button.
