I was going to Harbor Freight to buy an air gun to make a home made media blaster... The air gun was $3.99 plus I would have to buy the plastic tubing and some other bits. SO instead I bought this for $9.99.

Only one review and it's bad, but I figure at the minimum I can use it for parts or modify it...

I will report in when I test it out.

I picked that same on up last year. It does okay but is very picky about what you put in it. Did great on the pound or so of media I borrowed from work but did not like my sifted play sand at all. I got my $10 worth out of it though.

It appears that they want you to use glass or plastic bead... I going to use glass or soda... So we will see.

    Those "blasted" parts again !!

For media use whatever you can get flowing freely through the gun, but here's a good place to start:

Steel rust and paint removal: Straight glass beads, ilmenite or garnet.
Aluminium prep for paint: Straight soda
Aluminium prep for clear gloss or decorative finish: 50/50 Soda/glass

Let us know how you get on.

I forgot that I used soda in mine. That worked pretty good.
