    100/90-19 Front $46.88
    130/90-16 Rear $55.88
From Chapparal Motorsports EBAY store. I bought each tire in separate "buy-it-now" listings and BEFORE PAYING, I emailed them to ask for a combined shipping rate. They replied that shipping was free as order was over $100 and sent me invoice for $102.76 with free standard shipping noted. They even answered my question about shelf age and claimed these are factory fresh tires as they have good sales volume and turn their stock every 60-90 days. I'll post pics when they come in, but it will probably be over a week.

I have been checking tire prices every few days over the last two weeks, and they seem to be going up up up.

Got a link to the auction? I can't find a "Chapparal Motorsports" under store names on ebay.

That is where I ordered my Challengers from too. But I ordered from their direct site not through FleaBay.

Is that deal an all-time thing or would I have to order now? I need new tires for my bike, just don't have the funds available at the moment to get some.

Now they have the same prices on their main website, too. When I started this thread they weren't the same price.

So much for my prices going up remark! Tire prices do seem to be volatile, so it pays to check around a lot when you are ready to buy.

and you have to be careful with ebay, that "buyer protection" is a false security, the fine print on that means if they are gonna get out of keeping thier word one way or another. even if something is advertised as for your bike dont mean it is really---- go ahead ask me how I know
anyway I hope these are good tires gotta be better than those chinese mistakes I made!

Thanks for the advice about Ebay, I am pretty experienced with them as a buyer and seller. One thing I do, and recommend, is to always fund my paypal purchases with a credit card because if you get hosed you may be able to file a chargeback (although I have never had to and never had a buyer do one against me).

So if you wanna tell your story.....what did you buy for your bike that didn't fit and what happened?

nah dont want to hijack a thread any more than I have already (sorry about that) but thats a good tip for when you have to resort to ebay though. back to what screaming said- now I wonder how long those tires will be that price maybe I should get two more for later on? hmm. what's a tires "shelf life" I wonder.

Update... I got my tracking numbers but you may chuckle at this:
Front tire coming to me (in Michigan) from Chapparal's midwest warehouse in Maumee, OH. Yay! Should be on my porch tomorrow afternoon.
Rear tire coming to me from their main distribution center in California. Won't be here until Monday. Oh well, I'm doing a tile job all week anyway and possibly have a day open next week to go get tires mounted.

We got pretty much the same deal ....

They look pretty sick too ...

Locally it cost us about another $100 to have them both mounted and balanced with new (stainless steel) valve stems. The shop we use is really careful with newly painted or polished wheels. Good thing! We'd just finished putting Duplicolor acrylic enamel on them about a week prior. We don't have much choice actually .. it's either the dealerships, the Harley shop, or one of the numerous *Mom and Pop* places here in Yuma.

So around $200 for a set of Kenda Challengers (bought on line, same vendor that the op mentions) all mounted and balanced (off the bike, jsyk. Shops get a good deal more money if the wheels are still on the bike). That includes s/h as well.

From what I've been told these are a nice semi-sticky tire that wears ~ok~. I've been warned by a few people that these tires have about a one hundred mile "break in" period, until that is reached these can be pretty slippery. From what I'm told.

(Our bikes are not up and running yet so I can't give you any personal experience .. sorry! We've got three of them in the works right now. All three wil have Kenda Challengers on them when done.)...

Sorry I don't have more info. 'Bout as useless as screen doors on a submarine I am!! Or perhaps a kickstand on a horse!

    HAA!!

    Holeshot ...

6 years is commonly quoted max, whether on a vehicle or on a shelf. The compouds in a tire start to break down as soon as they are made.

Kenda's warranty limit is tires more than 4 years old, or purchased more than 2 years ago, whichever comes first.

Re: Tire Deal: Got a set of Kenda Challengers $102.76 Shippe

To my knowledge every motorcycle tire manufacturer advises a 100 mile "break in" period. Supposedly the surface is a bit slippery until scuffed up.

Personally I think the major reason is to give the rider time to become accustomed to the new edge. Many bike spend a lot of time going straight and the tires that come off will have a more square profile. New tires are rounded and corner better. I had a friend nearly take out a mailbox because his bike actually went ahead and turned at the end of the driveway instead of him having to fight it over the edge of the old, hard, squared off rubber.

One of my suppliers boosted Kenda pricing 12% across the board August 1. My other jacked them up 20% this spring. As sellers restock you might see prices go up.
