    Hello everyone!

    I don't know if it's something in the water but it seems there are quite a few XJ riders in Michigan. :D

    I've been lurking these forums for a while and finally decided to say hello and thanks to all of the members who take time to post here.

    I picked up my 1985 XJ700 Maxim about a year ago and you guys have given me the confidence to try and tackle any problem that may come up on my own!

    Howdy neighbor.

    I used to live North of you on Normandy at Woodward. Now I'm in Livonia.

    I get a surprising number of XJs into my Plymouth shop. Picking up an 81 650 Maxim on my way in tomorrow. Picked up an 1100 Max last week.

    I don't own an XJ anymore, but every one that comes into the shop gets a very extensive test ride. :wink:

    Welcome Aboard Neighbor, I don't live in Berkley but I am a member in the Berkley D.A.V. Chapter 19 and a past Chapter Service Officer for that Chapter. Unfortunately I do not live in Berkley but rather quite a drive out in Rose Township just South of Holly, Mi. I also have a 81'XJ750SecaR which for the summer I have had to put it on the back burner since I am tied up in so many machinery repairs at home this year. I am surprised that everyone thinks there are so many Yamaha owners of the Vintage era driving around here because I don't see them. About a month ago I went to a Motorcycle Swap meet in Novi and couldn't find anything for a 750SecaXJ so instead I picked up a couple Harley Sportster mufflers for my Seca-beauts! like new-Slash cuts and not a scratch on them for $25.00. That purchase saved the day for me. Hopefully this winter I will be able to get back on restoring my XJ so that it will be ready for next summer. Also, I agree 100% on the subject of how all of the guys in here are so helpful when you drive a XJ. They have opened my eyes to many more things which I am going to have to go through on my bike that I would have never thought of.     We should definitely set up a ride sometime. Would have to be in September but a fall ride sounds nice.

    Yep, it's a real place. I looked it up. Small town, pop only 829 but looks like it has a nice runnin' track and football field, LOL
