Installed a new throttle cable as the old one fray at the handlebar end and well... needed t o be replaced.

Put the new one in, all went without a problem, but it seems the throttle now sticks near the carbs, I pulled all the slack out and problem still persist.

Dont understand why this is happening.

did you lube properly? shoot some WD40 in there and move the cable up and down until the WD40 comes dripping out the other side.

I heard WD40 was bad for cables, a funnel and motor oil is what I was told.

Right Bill the mog, you can loosen up a dry cable with WD40, the lube it with thin oil, like sewing machine oil.
Check the routing of the cable.

Just in case I bought a can of Cable Life, seems to be working better now.

    GOOD.

NO WD40; at least not as a lube. Used as a lubricant, WD40 will rapidly gum up when exposed to the heat of a motorcycle engine. I learned this the hard way with the throttle cables on my Norton.

WD40 is great for displacing moisture, or flushing out crud; But for cable lube, you need a real lubricant such as what you now have.

Even new cables should be lubed.

Invest in a cable-luber; it makes the job so much easier. I've had mine for over 30 years:
