Well, I fired my bike for the first time and now know I need a new fuel valve. After discovering a very leaky T between #2 and 3 carbs, I realized I still had a leak with no engine vacuum. Pulled the fuel line and it leaks on the on and res settings. So, does anyone know of a simple, cheap replacement on/off/reserve valve? Preferably one that bolts up without enlarging the hole, which I can do if I have to. I at least need the bolt holes to line up. I'll be getting the new T and O rings from Chacal, just need a more economical valve if it exists. If not, I'll have to order his. I'll pop mine open later today to see if I can fix whatever is wrong with mine. Thanks in advance for any help. By the way, the sportster mufflers sound great!
*My valve was supposed to have been rebuilt with zero miles on it.

I think Chacol offers both the vac type and on/off types that bolt right on. Other than buying used, it's hard to beat his prices, delivery times, etc.

And if you buy from him, you know it's going to fit.

He does have them, but the bolt on on/off valve is $90 and I have just killed my budget lately on this thing.

Not sure if your bike is like mine - 85 XJ700N. I have a vacuum operated valve on the back of my petcock. But if you don't care about a V.O.V. like me, with a little modification and 0$, yours can work like the old days "gravity feed". Simply remove the valve guts and replace with a short piece of 3/8" OD fuel line to plug the void - must fit tightly, cap off the vacuum line barbs, flip the label plate upside down, also make the lever swing up toward the tank instead of down toward the engine. I also had to grind a very little off the end of the lever handle to clear the gas tank. Make gasket. Done.
