plug colors

    just put in new plugs after firing her up after a carb rebuild. Ran it about 20 mins off and on and then pulled the plugs. # 2 and # 4 are dark gray, Not gassy wet or oily wet just dark gray. # 1 and # 3 look as though they are burning good and will be fine. I have no idea how this bike was treated by PO and has 5700 on clock.

    forgot to add a few things. Installed new needle seats and adjusted float levels. Not sure what adjustments i can make from here to reduce the running rich in cylinders 2 and 4? Any help appreciated. Low mileage bike i am trying to revive.

    Have you checked the valve clearances yet? If not, start there.

    HOW did you set the float levels?

    What method did you use to vacuum sync? Is it a YICS motor bike?

    You're not giving us much to go on.
