    I have a 1982 XJ750 Maxim.
    I am having transmission problems.
Will the engine and transmission parts (or complete engine) from a XJ650 or XJ700 or Seca fit my bike?

The 650 and 750 Maxim/Seca is the same engine block, so yes it woud fit. I don't know about the 700 however.

Get an XJ750 if you can. You'll miss the larger engine, and there are several minor but important issues to deal with when you cross-pollinate from one engine size to the other-

The 650 and 750 engines are different enough to matter in these areas:
Carbs- same bodies, very different jetting
CDI box- the boxes physically interchange, but probably have different advance curves. (different p#s)
Airbox- both are similar, but not the same/easy swap.
Oil level sender- you may need to swap so it reads correctly.
Tachometer- some engines were mechanical, some were electric. You may end up needing to adapt one type to work in place of the other.

Everything else is an easy bolt-on.

I completed the swap (XJ-650 motor into the XJ-750).
    Everything worked with no changes.

The 650 shifter is a simple lever, as compared to the bellcrank shifter on the 750, but it works just fine as is.

Yep! The 82 Maxim 750 had the computer instrumentation. So the oil level sensor will only work with the computer type. If you don't change it then the oil light will stay on. None of the 650's or 700's had the computer instruments.

This is a stripped down machine, so no instrument functions are used.
So I didn't notice any sender problem

I don't need no steenkin instruments!
