Great reading if you're a scientist....

Does give some insight into how oils are evaluated, though. And gives some actual numbers to help in deciding which oil to use.

It's in PDF format, so you'll need the Adobe Acrobat reader if you don't already have it. Google "Adobe download", if you're clueless.

Keep in mind, this info DOES come from an Amsoil dealer's website.

Interesting read. Has anybody looked into Royal Purple Max Cycle? I use their oil front to back im my truck for two years now with impressive results. I gained two miles per gallon fuel economy, shifting is MUCH smoother and easier(manual trans) and at 10,000 mile changes the oil still looks relatively clean. Their Max Cycle is designed for motorcycles and is compatible with wet clutches and is a true synthetic. When my bike hits 12,000 I will be switching from dino to Max Cycle.

Royal Purple is one of the oils that they tested in the link I posted originally.

It's in the middle of the pack....see page 24 for the overall rankings.

I liked how Pennzoil "Motorcycle" (dirt cheap) beat out the Yamalube (not dirt cheap).

Look at page 24 at this link....
