So I got this 12V power supply for the bike and now can power my iPhone that is awesome with the handlebar holder for my iPhone as well, down side you can't here the GPS app tell you when to turn etc. So, my bluetooth head set came with a set of ear buds. So I now stream the directions to my bluetooth earbuds under my helmet. Works great I can hear things clearly at highway speeds (70-90 MPH) LOL I have a led right head I guess. Anyway, just a nice little set up. The down side is the 12V adapter will draw if something is plugged in even if the bike is off so I have to remember to remove the iPhone plug from the 12V adapter otherwise I'll end up with a dead battery. It is connected directly to the battery, it is fused as well so...

Exactly what I'm looking to do. Just ordered my phone mount, online. Been looking at some clip-on, bluetooth devices, too, that allow you to use earbuds of your choice, like the Jabra Clipper. Is this like what you have?

I have a Samsung bluetooth ear piece (HM3500) that came with earbuds, and has an adapter so you can use your own as well. Works pretty good. I can here my GPS at highway speeds and even in a good head wind as well. Ironically it was looking at the clip-on bluetooth devices that made me remember that my ear piece could do this...

Fyi a $5 automotive relay, some wires and connectors and plug won't drain battery with key off.

You can use the blue/white rear running light as the "switch" power 4 the relay.

I'd try it Metal_bob but honestly electrical stuff scares the hell out of me. I can dive in and do what needs to be done to the motor, but cutting wires and splicing in scare me to death. I am afraid I'll screw up and short the whole thing out... But I guess I need to look at the wiring diagram and figure it out and do it. I will forget to pull out the power adapter from the 12V socket and end up with a dead battery.

I found switched power wires in my headlight bucket that were unused. I tapped those for my 12V plug which I mounted to my fairing between my gauges. No bluetooth here though.

I took a 150 mile ride Sunday and it was nice to have some music on. Not overly loud, I could hear traffic and wind, but made for a nice ride. The bigger bonus is being able to see and hear my GPS on my phone on long rides where I need directions!

Been debating that. Did about 240 miles R/T to Jersey Saturday. Long big slab stretches get boring sometimes.

On that note, quite a weird feeling looking at the GPS and seeing your dot and nothing but blue water under it while on a bike!

What is up with that? I only get that when I take my Garmin on my boat. Then, it's a little car driving across blue water. LOL

    I use these BlueTooth Interphone

They allow you to sync to your phone for turn by turn directions, MP3 playback, and rider to rider/passenger intercom. Cant beat the price for what it does.

Ive been using them all summer with no problems.
Finding reviews might be a bit tough - they're China made, and brandless.

If you have any questions, don't hesitate to ask.

OK, then how hard was it to install and get working? Will it work with an iPhone 4? how is the battery life? I should add my helmet is not 'bluetooth' ready.
