air/ fuel ratio screw??

    i have a set of mikuni carbs on my gs450 and it is running lean and i need to adjust the air fuel mixture. is the adjustment screw hiding under a metal plug because of the epa regulations??? help???

    The metal plug needs to be drilled out, but be careful. You dont want to go too far and hit your pilot screw.

    Probably. At least the only one you'll see looking straight down.

    Are they CV's? (I'm assuming they are.)

    If so, the plug you're looking for is over the pilot (mixture) screw. If indeed they're CV's, they'll be very similar to this: http://xjbikes.com/Forums/viewtopic/t=31061.html The second pic in the article shows it clearly (with the plug removed.)
