Now that there 4G Wireless Devices with Touch Screens and Internet Access, ...
we are more vulnerable to having a totally irresponsible Text-ter or Tweeter drift into your space while reading not to forget to stop and pick-up batteries for his girl-friends stress-reducing Triphoria.

There ought to be a jamming device that prevents using devices that distract from driving the vehicle that automatically disable that stuff unless the Parking Brake is ON and the Vehicle actually stopped with Flashers working.

right, what we need is MORE big brother electronics looking in on us and making us completely incapable of making intelligent decisions for ourselves on top of more gov't regulations and that restrict our freedoms and treat us all like the redheaded stepchild of the family all while costing us taxpayers money to fund the management of said programs.

    NOT.

life happens. Its dangerous out there. wear a helmet or stay home.

there have been laws against txting while driving since before there were cell phones. It's called "driving while distracted" and you can be cited for it, doing it while an accident occurs will cause you to be found at fault for said accident. What we need is enforcement by police interested in protecting and serving their communities rather than just dealing out tickets like so many playing cards in a fund raising effort for their municipalities. More laws are only so much scribbles on paper. I never met a piece of paper with a gun, badge and cuffs that motivated me to change my behavior.

Having laws against txting and driving is like having laws against turning around to yell at your rowdy kids, laws against reading the paper, applying make-up, laws against stooping to retrieve an item from the passenger foot well... It's just one on the long list of things drivers do when they should instead be driving. That is, operating a ton and a half of machinery with the power to instantly and effortlessly kill fellow humans. Driving is not to be taken so flippantly as we do.
Motorcyclists and professional drivers (CDL holders) have a vested interest in operating their vehicles safely. They respect the road; it's risks and hazards. We take our lives into our own hands every time we throw a leg over. They hold the lives of others in theirs as part of their 9 to 5 and can have their livelihood revoke for fairly minor infractions.

That's my patter rant on the subject.

I wanted a woman arrested for attempted man-slaughter when she almost ran me off the road a few weeks ago. She just came over and split the lane lucky for me three things were in my favor that day. 1. I was paying attention to everyone around me. 2. I was in the left lane riding to the left of the lane. 3. a nice clear large shoulder to slid into.

So she almost kills me then I see blue lights, I knew the state trooper was behind me. I though WTF he's gonna pull me? No he pulled the woman. I rolled up behind them and asked him to arrested. He wouldn't but wrote her three tickets two of which were reckless driving charges. I asked what does he need to kill someone before she gets arrested for attempted man-slaughter? He didn't answer.

If that video is in the states the rider was on the wrong side of the road and the truck missed HIM. Not the other way around.

What good is a law against texting, distracted driving etc, when those who are paid to enforce it are typing on a laptop computer, with a cell phone in one ear and a radio in the other weaving in and out of traffic? They're just as bad as those they're ticketing if not worse.

Was that SUV TRYING to hit him??? And he really didnt react at all. He went off road AFTER the car had passed. Just moved his arm. Lucky that girls knee didnt get taken off.
And yeah if that IS in the states thats all his fault. Thats a Chevy Avalanche, built to combat the new Escalades and I'm pretty sure only sold in the states. Maybe this rider is a noob and was showin off too his girl.

.... Why is the Camera pointed at HIM anyway....???? I dont even think i'm THAT cool... Well I guess the mustache IS pretty epic.

Then I wouldn't be able to use my speedometer, lol. Guess I would have to go back to stock.

THAT suv was simply using the biker to wipe off the side of his truck. Duh.

    Several things occurred to me:

    - Someone said it might be a test video, so maybe it's staged to show maneuverability of bike.

    - It's probably filmed in the UK due to the solid white middle line, and him on the other side.

    - We don't need electronic devices to not function in drive mode, we need jamming devices on our bikes that jam THEIR devices when we're near

    - And mostly, we need to have the kind of driving tests here that they have in Germany. Took my wife's german friend several years to completely pass her exams and get a license, as it does many people. In this country we almost think of it as some kinda patriotic right to skim kids thru the test so they can get behind the wheel before they even need to shave. Passing the test with a "D" shouldn't constitute "here's the keys buddy. Knock yerself out."

    - Great video, thanks HirsuitHeathen

I think if we had jamming devices in a vehicle it would make it difficult to do certain tasks... Such as call 911 when it is needed. In times of emergency some times it is needed to be able to drive and use the phone.

For instance. While leaving a football game in Miami last November I was driving, minding my own business, when out of no where a wreckless driver in a huge suv slammed into the side of our small Civic. He got in front of me and slammed on the brakes three times. He was trying to disable the vehickle before I could get his tag information. Assuming he would pull over I had already slowed down, so forcing me into the rear of his suv was not going to work. I then got the passenger to read the tag number, and call the police while I followed at a safe distance thinking he is eventually going to pull over. Well he never pulled over so after his information was given to the police, and after he speeds up to near 100mph I pulled over to wait for the cops. Needless to say I think anykind of jamming device would not be such a good idea.

Oh and I had went to court over this. Turns out he never even contaced his insurance company. They got their statement from me, and he was fined a bunch ontop of paying for our car.

Not the UK for two reasons:
    1. There would be two solid white lines if this was a "No overtaking" road OR broken white lines if overtaking is allowed.
    2. The pickup license plate would be yellow, with black letters.

If it is a RHD country, I only know of two others - Australia and New Zealand.

What ever though - as we might say "He discovered that adrenaline is brown!"

I think we've all learned a valuable lesson today: sometimes you eat sh!t and other times you just make it. I'm glad you all enjoyed. I've found ones however where the rider was definitely in the wrong and of course just being a douche bag because.

It's not an Avalanche - it has a third tail-light in the middle of the tail end, unlike the Avalanche - and this video is from the UK, which is not only in the video description, but the big truck has UK plates.
