Just wondering how many of us have/do play World of Warcraft.

I cancelled my sub back in February this year, but before that i'd played since July 2005.

    Server: Kargath
Main: Chocolatmilk Warlock (Renamed to Øathbreaker back last year)

Raided in guild Epiphany, till they decided to be a bunch of @#$holes.

    Other regularly played toons:

    KrS - Warrior
    Naritha - Priest

So how many of you have played?!

I played from a month before the 1st expansion till a month before Cat.

Got tired of rep grinding, dailies, having non-profitable crafts on my toons, to many guild failures/deaths, last guild that was 2/3 full of people that were to casual and couldn't follow simple directions (ie stay out of the death circle every F'ing week) and all my real life friends quitting and or playing other servers/factions.

My last active toons were an 80 Orc Resto Shaman and 80 Orc Hunter (Never did respec him once they enacted the pre-Cata skills/spells).

My first toon were a 70 Human tank (screwed over many times by guilds/people) and a 72 Human rogue (only raided in a very casual 10 man raid guild).

I want to play Star Wars Old Republic, but I don't know if I want to get that addicted again let alone do the raiding gear grind again and again...

Besides did you see the crazy price of the collector's edition? Arrgghhh...

The only reason/way my Hunter was able to raid/gear up was thru GDKP (Gold Pot type raids - Mostly semi-geared random people - Bid on how much gold you are willing to pay for dropped gear and even gold split for everyone that stays entire night). My hunter was fully geared thru the 1/2 Half of ICC 25. Other than that he was only used for herb/leather/gold farming :(

Never played WoW...gonna keep it that way.

I played Star Wars Galaxies for longer than I'd like to admit (coughsincelaunchcough)

I just finished beta testing The Old Republic...if you're interested in that one then be excited. Can't wait. Bob, it's not all grinding. The story is just massive. Just...prepare yourself for yarble blowing awesomeness.

Also I may or may not hop on Global Agenda and Guild Wars from time to time.

These days if I do game, it's for a little bit on the weekends when I'm too pooped to wrench.

Aw, I played Swg from the start... But I will not be there for the shut down in dec though lol. I hate to resubscribe and see my old citiy empty, and houses full of vet rewards and other unused things.. I had put so many hours in that game. I, and all of my guild members are excited for swtor. I just hope it is as deep as swg was. I just bought a new 6 core for when it comes out.. an Bf3 which come out around the same time. My birthday is oct-24th, the 25th bf3 comes out. I am betting they both come out within a week of each other.

I noticed your photos at the convention.. I always get a kick out of the props people can make in there own house.

Preeetttyyy sure I'm going to drop the $15 and sub for the last month lol. I think I would kick myself later if I didn't.

And, since the game is going kaboom, I can go around to all the people I didn't like and /rudegesture

Yea those Star Wars conventions are great. There's so much home-made stuff and creativity it's right up my alley. I mean, if you can make a muscle car or a motorcycle, you can build an R2-D2 haha. It's just a matter of where you put your time and energy.

[nerd]It really doesn't matter what it is, I need to be making something...building something. With motorcycles, you can tear down the road with something you basically built with your two hands. In gaming, you can develop a trade or skill (as inconsequential as it may seem) and contribute to the in-game economy and playerbase. Motorcycles and gaming are on completely different ends of the spectrum, but on the other hand you can work towards something you're proud of.[/nerd]

I went from Tribes2 to Planetside to SWG. I was the 9th person on my server to gain the Jedi slot (before the changes made it so anyone could have it). I sold that account for a disturbing amount of real money and started another account, and gained the Jedi slot during the "hologrinding" phase of the game. I sold/traded that account as well and played until WoW came out. I played WoW up through BC.

Sadly gaming was one of the things that led to my divorce and Ive since hung up my gaming tag in favor of actually having a life outside my computer room.

    But I did just preorder SW:TOR ;)

Never played WoW. Might give it a go, since they're making it free up to lvl 20. I do play DDO, tho.

Played a WOW private server for a minute to see if I wanted to try the game and I hated it, but I play Atlantica Online though nowadays I mostly just check in here and there.

Private server's aren't even close to the rel thing yet, especially after Cata came out. Patch 3.3.5 privates are pretty close, still some things that don't work right tho (escort type quests, some spells etc)

For sure the 10 day (Level 20) free offer is the way to try out WoW, I make fake email accounts when I need to feed my wow twitch with the 10 day trial :)

BUT, when the bike goes to bed for the winter i think i'm going to re-subscribe and see if a can't get into a laid back/softcore raiding guild that raids sun-mon nights.

    Should be fun.

Depends on what you want to know! Mostly everything is public. I think mainly I'm just not supposed to share accounts or post screenies.

What classes have you played? Which do you personally like the most?

In WoW I liked being versitile and was pretty much a solo'r. That led me to most enjoy Druids and Hunters but I also found Rogues made for a good solo class when you factor in steatlh and shear explosive power. Can you equate anything along those lines or is the game play and quest mechanics just so different as to be comparable?

I think at the moment they are mainly working on server side issues. Us swg players have been waiting a long time for this.

In SWG I was a smuggler from beginning to end -- never respec'd to any other profession. Pre-CU smuggler when you could actually SLICE was great. I remember slicing things for n00bs, and then keeping their items when they couldn't pay haha. What, is this a charity? Good freaking times.

SWTOR: First char I made was a smuggler. The game is very story driven, but it's great. Bioware does really well with stuff like that. You follow the story, but it takes you to different places on different worlds. You start on Ord Mantel, and it's sweet because it's a planet you hear about in the movies and books, but now you get to roam it. And then a good deal down the story line you go to Coruscant. Freeekin Coruscant, man. There's no other game where you get to explore that planet. It's beautiful.

You can do most of it solo, but there are missions along the way where you need a group.

Haven't tried any other professions yet. They just updated the servers and put em back online, so I'm going to make a bounty hunter next.

I wish it was a little more versatile as far as mix matching professions, but you basically pick one and assume the role. They do let you switch it up by branching out on the skills. For instance, smuggler has two main branches you can go, scoundrel and gunslinger. Scoundrel is more tricks and traps and sneak and smuggler foolery, where gunslinger is more DPS and defenses. And then from either of those main branches, there are three different "flavors" in which you can allocate skill points. So no, you couldn't be a "Sith Bounty Hunter", but there's lots of opportunity to make your own version of your class...if that makes any sense at all.
