well, he might be overstating it a little, but a good running Virago is in fact a very smooth bike.

Might be smooth if you can get it started, Viragos had quite a few starter problems. I would say a inline 4 will out run it anyday. I have ridden them but prefer 4 cylinders.
    It is a nice bike.

My uncle has one. It is a nice bike but my Seca will take it no problem. Iis Harley is a different story but it's about twice as big a motor.

Funny, he doesn't even mention the "push start" feature in his ad.

early viragos pre 85 all have starter problems can be a real pain to fix. All viragos pre 89 with hitachi carbs usually have carb problems or had problems the best part is the pilot jet on most is in the carb body in a passage no way to get to it and clean it so you better hope air and soaking clears it. They are so sensitive after sitting 4-6 weeks they plug up. If it does not work plan on spending an afternoon pulling the carbs back off. You have to pull the intakes off to get the carbs off. Its almost easier to pull all the mounts but the lower rear tilt the motor to pull them. Later ones had mikuni carbs worked much better with many less problems. I know this from experience had 2 of them never again. Oh yea you know on xjs when you have a float or petcock problem the drip out of the air box not a virago right into the cyl the air intake boots turn up it uses the frame as an airbox and stick a chrome filter coming out the right side. Early chain drive 920s are the fast ones run about the same as a 650 maxim
