2006 suzuki kantana 600..headlights will not come on

Have a 06 kantana .. the headlights worked fine one morning and the next, nothing,,,head lights would not come on when the key was turned on or engine started. All other lights work, dash,turn,running.
I have determined there is no power to the fuses and the headlite bulbs are good.
I just now received a wiring diagram but the lights run thru a dozen different things.
Has anyone out there had the same problem and if do, how did you fix it properly without some engeering.

I have a temp fix but it only gives me hi beams by using a relay powered by the running lights to power the headlights off the battery.

 

RIGHT I have downloaded what looks like a US spec katana wiring diagram.

The fuses for the high and low beams only have power on then when the "Dimmer switch" is selected to high or low.

You will need to check that there is a supply TO the dimmer switch on the Yellow/white tracer wire. If there is, your dimmer switch is faulty.

If not follow the y/w wire on the diagram. It goes to a connector which is part of the right handlebar switches and changes to orange. This same orange wire feeds the other fuses and as the bike is fine otherwise, it shouldn't be a fault.

Remember connectors can corrode and/or overheat so check them for continuity.

Thanks for the reply..I did not check that particular wire. Will do it as soon as the bike gets here....
