Clutch cable

    Had to take some of the clutch cable off to change a Broken clutch return spring I think it is and I have no clue how to put it back together any help would be greatly appreciated.

    And since we have no clue what bike it is it's kind of hard to help.

    They all work basically the same, but are different in specifics. We could point you at pictures if we knew what you were talking about.

    i have a xj650 1982 and mine just snapped off and i am trying to also figure out how to install the new one

    If the question is how to get the throwout arm repositioned correctly after it's been removed, here's how:

    ROTATE the throwout shaft CLOCKWISE (viewed from "above") until it stops. This brings the throwout rod up against the inside of the pressure plate.

    Reinstall the lever with its little indicator "pip" aligned with the little bump cast onto the case. That's the starting point. It may be necessary to back the lever up by one spline to get a better pull-range; you'll figure that out when you adjust the cable. Put the knurled adjuster wheel at the handlebar in the middle of its adjustment range, and then adjust the lower cable attachment nuts to get the slack out. Fine-tune at the handlebar.
