I have a 1983 XJ750 that Im needing a clutch basket for. I need the small inner basket and the bigger outer basket with the bearing.

Good time to check this - I heard that the tooth count on the clutch is different from Maxim to Seca - T or F ??

I m not sure about that one. I don't see why there would be a difference between the Seca and Maxim if they are both XJ750...

The only difference between 650/750 clutches is the following
    5G2-16383-00-00 SPRING, CLUTCH BOSS

This sits between the seat plate, and 1st clutch plate on the clutch boss. It is a wave spring that uses a higher tension on the 750 to handle the higher torque load of the motor.

Otherwise all parts are the same for both 650/750.
The 650 is listed as an assembly in the parts schematic. While the change of the spring required the 750 parts to be listed seperately.

MiGhost has the correct answer: identical except for the clutch boss spring, and, actually, the pressure plate springs are different between the 650 and 750 engines, but they can be physically interchanged (the 750 springs are a bit stiffer).

Back to the first post for a sec.

I believe you need a HUB as well; you referred to the "smaller, inner basket." The outer piece is referred to as the "basket" because of its shape, empty. It resembles a basket. The center piece is known as the "hub."

Just wanted to be sure you're searching for the correct parts.

Thanks. Yes, the "hub" is the part I really need. But if someone had a good hub and basket, I'll take both!

So I just broke clutch hub # 3, using the local yamaha dealer's special vice grippy tool to hold it while I tightened the center nut. That was my last one. If someone has one please message me!
