Jumped wires in headlamp, now no electric power

I recently had ripped my clutch safety cable (that cable that keeps you from starting in gear with the clutch "engaged"). I noticed that once it was ripped, I couldn't start the bike unless it was in neutral. I figured to myself, if I jump this switch to be normally closed, I'll be able to start in ANY gear, even WITHOUT the clutch disengaged (not too worried about the safety issue, I always squeeze the clutch to start even when in neutral). My problem is I pulled the headlamp of today without CAREFULLY reading the wire diagram in my Haynes book. I was supposed to jump the black and black/yellow wire. Turns out I jumped a blue and greenishblue/yellow and received no change, bike still started only in neutral. I then jumped what I believe was brown and a black, no result at all, no neutral light, no brake light, no response. I finally decided to actually read the LEGEND on top of the diagram and found the black and yellow wire. I have these two wires jumped normally-closed. I still DO NOT get any power. Any idea what I've fried, need to replace, or any cost effective simple solution??? (PS I finally found in the end that that the clutch safety connects to a little green terminal, I had the cable ripped out for a while so I forgot which to connect to it. I'm sure I'll learn from this mistake lol)

 

Blew a MAIN fuse, not sure if this is my ONLY problem. Will be replacing this later tonight.

 

Brown on my 750 seca is usually switched power, so you grounded switched power. Don't want to do that without SOME load inbetween. Black is ALWAYS ground (on factory wiring). Check all your fuses, and replace with the proper amperage fuse.

Lesson learned...why there are fuses in the first place :-D

A whole New Switch that would plug right in should be about 12-Bucks.

That would be a giant step toward making everything be right.

 

Thanks for the input guys. As far as I know, only problem was a blown fuse. I plan on keeping the switch jumped because I plan to strip the bike down to bare minimum this winter (along with checking valves, and pulling the head for a god awful busted exhaust stud), and majority of the wires have GOT to go lol. This is off the main topic of the thread, but does anyone know of a list/guide with the bare essentials needed for this bike. I would consider myself at an intermediate level with electrical theory and understanding (currently studying hvac/r at Stevens College in Lancaster, PA)
