Mufflers Both - Condition? Dented? Excess rust/holes?

Left and Right Handlebar Controls - Overall conditions?

Why the discount for two fenders instead of just one? Are you paying overhead to store those parts? ....

Ha, I'm sorry. I do wish you the best but $80 each for a fender? One could get two complete sets for that much. I understand wanting some cash for good parts but that'll never happen for you...

Thanks for the parts list, but it's too rich for me. Not saying your prices are out of line, just more than I can afford at this time.

Prince albert3 has a point. My "2 cents"; I've bought & sold lots of parts and I'll add that this isn't ebay, these forums tend to offer an alternative for bargain basement buyers. Besides that, the economy sucks...which is something we all can agree on! :)

So i took all your posts into consideration and appreciate what everyone had to say but with all do respect i understand this isn't ebay but it is a business to me. i am trying a different approach in selling used parts and yeah some parts are high some parts are low but nothing is a rip off here. Mercuryman i am paying overhead because all these parts are taking up space in my shop. Sorry if guys want more of a discount but if you want to make an offer that is reasonable and not ridiculous i can more then likely work with it.

I think this guy needs is to feel the collective heat from all of us who can't afford samjd07's prices. What kind of overhead is generated by parts taking up space anyway? c'mon XJers, we can find better prices on Ebay.

To be fair your big items are not priced over the top. I didn't mean any disrespect about the overhead, but dual prices for quantity is a tactic that big box capitalists use to get you to buy more than you need, so it surprised me. I do think your are a little high on some of the smaller items and the ones that you indicate have issues like the "medium" rust muffler for $80 (If it were me I would remove the rust to get top dollar) but they are your parts and you are entitled to price them as you see fit.

There was no disrespect taken i just felt like everybody was firing at me and needed to fire back no hard feelings at all lol the prices are not set in stone. I'm paying for a shop and if they are taking up space i can not be productive in that space thats all. i'm not trying to get rich here. like i said i run a shop and i was using this site to try and move some parts and see how it worked out.

I suggest that you look at the prices on Ebay and compare what you have to them and set your prices COMPETITIVELY. There is a search feature that will show you all the XJ parts for sale. Just as an example, there are many fenders, front and rear that are, in some cases, 1/3 the price of your fenders. And they are in pretty good shape. Actually, you are priced right in the range of other sellers on most of your parts. All we really want is for the business community to know that we the consumer will not tolerate any more GREED. So when you set a price too high, in OUR opinion, you'll get the response from us that you did. Also be aware that we can't really communicate this to Ebay sellers except to not buy from the ones who are clueless and set their prices stupidly high. I have watched for months and those parts sit there gathering dust, but the sellers still don't get it. My guess is that they patiently wait for some poor sucker who is too stupid or too desparate for a certain part and that's just not right. I hope this has opened your eyes about the mindset of us consumers; WE'RE JUST TIRED OF CORPORATE GREED AND CORRUPTION! I'm sorry that you got lumped in with that bunch, but you told us about your shop which means you are a businessman.

I understand and thank you for your opinion i want nothing to do with corporate greed and corruption i'm just a small business owner trying to get by like everyone else. i wasn't trying to impose anything crazy. maybe for this site i'll lower my prices to be competitive on here and differently on ebay.

Thank you for your understanding in this matter, pricing is a difficult thing to do when you are not aware of the customers ability to cope in this economy. We are all aware that for a business to flourish there must be a reasonable profit. Pricing should be based on how much an item is in demand, and the availability from other competing sources. I'm sure you know that NOS parts are priced higher due to their perceived rarity, but you can see that NOS parts don't move very fast on Ebay because there are other competing suppliers who sell OEM parts for less than NOS. I can't speak for anybody else about their financial situation, but I can tell you of mine; I am a disabled veteran living on a fixed income of less than $1000 a month. I am not so disabled that I can't ride, but I can't be employed. So I have this bike I bought to have as a hobby and to restore it to a condition where I can ride it. Thanks to a loving woman I live with I do have a few bucks to devote to this hobby, but after my bills are paid there are precious few dollars left to buy parts with.

My $.02 if anyone is interested....I just made a purchase from Sam...Good communication and seemed to be straight up guy. We negotiated price and I bought what I thought was a good deal and told him I'd have to wait on other stuff...
No need to gang up on a guy because he's trying to make a buck. Don't we all want to get top dollar for the things we sell? It's only a ripoff if he #1 misrepresents what he's selling, and/or #2 you buy it.
If you don't like the price of the fender either make an offer or don't buy it....but don't publicly shat on the guy because you don't like his prices...just not cool...
    My opinion.

God Bless the Veterans! No doubt we owe them our freedoms.

Patmac did you read all the posts? I don't think there was a collective gang up on the guy. Just a normal reaction to prices that some felt were unfair or too high. Your other points are totally valid though. Complaining does no good when you have no stake in the matter. Just go elsewhere if you don't like it.

One question though-have you already received what you purchased? Because until you do, you can't really have any idea whether or not you got a good deal. I purcahsed a valve cover for $16 and when it arrived it looked better than the pictures. It had actually been completely stripped, cleaned, and lightly primed. Looked brand new! So great parts at reasonable prices can happen. Best of luck.

Sam congratulations on making a sale. Even though you took some heat you did the right thing by bringing your parts here-a place full of people who's first priority is keeping their ride alive!
