Doing a top end rebuild on my '81 Midnight Maxim... desperately need the thick boots that hold the carbs to the engine block, all 4. Mine are cracked, looking for ones with no cracks, willing to pay top dollar. Thanks.

PM Chacal. Or click his catalog link in the top right of the page.

    He'll have new ones.

www.jbmindustries.com is an interesting site, but what a pain in the butt to have to get measurements right and angles etc. I'd rather just get new/used OEM parts. I think I'll use www.jbmindustries.com as a last resort...

Yeah, get ones from Len Chacal, at: info@xj4ever.com You won't have to pay top dollar, though they aren't cheap either. Plus you'll have nice soft new ones that will be EASY to work with.

I have a good set from a 1980 xj650 Maxim, not sure if they are any different from your '81. I'll pull them of the engine, which I believe is a 1980, possibly 1981. The case # is 4H7-111947.

PM with your email and I'll send you hi-rez pics of the boots. For now, here's my ad with a pic that shows intake boots attached to the engine:
