    Hello,

How much would someone pay for the above bike with no title? Where would I make more off the bike by parting it out or selling it whole?? Carbs need adjustment (Floats) and reinstalled only mechanical issue that I know of. Bike is not stolen I received the bike in a trade over 2 years ago and the guy that traded me the bike will not return my e-mails or calls so I can get the title. I have e-mails to prove I received the bike in a trade.
    Thanks

Well......that doesn't mean it's not stolen. Just cuz you have emails doesn't amount to much in the long run. The person named on the title, or the new owner that has signed the back, legally owns the bike. (atleast that's how it is here in NY) and it doesn't matter how many other people its gone through. Only the name on the front, or the new name on the back, are the names allowed to do anything with it. If you dont' have the title, and it's not in your name.......DMV won't recognize it as yours.

In that instance, here in NY the thing to do is part it out and either send the frame to the scrap yard or sell it to someone who just need frame parts and will be removing the headtube.

I've paid no more than $200 for any bikes that I've bought under those conditions. If the majority of parts is good, you'll make a lot more than you paid. If you have another bike that you bought cheap and HAS a title, then this becomes a parts bike for you, swap things over and make a nice chunk of change to put into more bikes, ...........and buy yourself a pizza, as well.

    Hope that helps somewhat................

I have overheard rumors that getting a title for a bike in Michigan is not that big a deal. I would explore what steps are required to get a title with the DMV unless you think it is hot. To many good bikes getting parted out breaks my heart.
