i guess there are somethings this could be handy for.
like a blast booth or a paint room but maybe a class on welding then hard tailing your frame might not be such a good idea.

Looks like there will be one in Portland, Or (it says planning). I live across the river in Vancouver, WA so that might be interesting.
It also says it costs $100 per month to be a member. For me, some months would be a bargain, but many more would not...I wonder if that's month to month or if you have to "subscribe"?
I'd have to wonder what some of the equipment would be like after a few months of allowing completely inexperienced people to use it after "a few hours" in one of their training classes?? I saw a guy break off a 3/4 inch end mill once...because he "already knew what he was doing..."
I suspect this will end up being too cost prohibitive for the average home fabricator...only schools and companies will end up using it. Maybe that's the intention?

Ouch....$100 a month for quickly abused tools could be prohibitive.

But then again, if you break a $75 tool everyday it might make sense.(or dollars)

It might work in some areas of the country, but in many places if you can afford $100 a month for a tinkering club, you have a pretty nice house with a garage and a decent set of tools already.....and your only riding a 30 year old XJ by choice.

read some things about these places on machining forums and it seems metal working guys go to do wood things and woodworkers do metal projects.
you don't usually find a bridgeport in a wood shop or a delta table saw in a machine shop but you can use router bits in a mill and cut aluminum on a table saw
