Fired the turbo up last night. She sounds great. Fine tuning is in order though. Still trying to decide whether to buy an OEM fuel pump or go with one from an R6 as some have done.

I tried to post video but this site will not accept .mov format. If anyone has knowledge on how to convert to an acceptable format that would be great!

Many thanks to oilheadron for all his expertise, advice, and most of all his shop. What a great guy and good friend.

VERY, very cool slobot! ANOTHER turbo coes back to life!! We had a terrific weekend up here near Annapolis and there were lots of bikes on the roads.

Question; If it's up and running, why replace the pump? I suspect it's a confidence thing....if it is, keep in mind that a OEM pump will have 30 year old seals where a newer pump will be....well, newer<LOL>.

You guys are lucky to share the same interests as two sets of eyes and two brains can solve things and enjoy sharing the company as you do....

    Congrats again, well done!

Thanks Jeff. My original pump was garbage. The pump that we used to start the bike is one that Ron uses around the shop. I have done some research and have leads on three pumps that I believe will work without blowing my budget for that particular part.

We had a mystery on the #1 cylinder; fuel (more later on this), spark, and compression was all there, but the cylinder was totally dead. Spark plug was bone dry. Turns out the #1 carb wasn't seeing any vacuum because the header was clogged up with acorns!! After they shot out all over the shop like bullets, bingo! Four-cylinder bike again.

    Thanks for the compliments Charles!

Thanks guys! The R6 fuel pump arrived yesterday and I installed it today. Works great! Rode her some tonight, just up and down the drive by Ron's shop. The hard work is done now on to some of the other details like brakes, fork seals, probably progressive shocks and springs, tires, and a whole lot more detailing. I'll add some pictures to photo bucket from tonight of the old girl back together along with some shots of Ron's turbo.
